BACKSTORY:

Nieumann grew up wanting to be a veterinarian and fell into Sciences in his late teens, starting with Exobiology. Among several institutions he applied for, Starfleet’s recruitment procedure offered new challenges that seduced him. He made do with having to expand his academic range by quite a lot. Nieumann was rather dismayed to find himself bumped over to a couple R&D facilities as he made LT, the last one Blue Base. He adapted, all the while trying to work his way back aboard a Science ship.
